Entangled Loggerhead Turtle by Dağan Aydener

Through its UK academic partner, University of Exeter, SPOT’s stranding network contributed data to the INDICIT Project phase I and phase II.

The project used loggerhead turtles as a bioindicator species to develop a standardised methodology to monitor marine plastics through sea turtle necropsy and diet analysis and recoding of marine debris entanglements in sea turtles.

The final report can be found below the visual.
